A couple of days ago I got a call from a lovely lady who was organising a fete at my local library. She had been let down by some people and asked if I could come along. I was busy working and agreed to help out without asking much about it.
I turned up this morning and found it was a church type sale with tombola and cake stand and bric a brac. My perception was that it was not going to be a good day for me but I had agreed to do it and don’t go back on my word. I just settled to thinking that I would get some drawing done and have some nice cake.
I was so wrong (not about the cake!!). I had an amazing day with lots of sales and commissions….. Including the original of Chiquita.
I also met some lovely people again and had a wonderful day.
It just goes to prove that art fits anywhere and does not just belong in galleries. I love that people are open to art wherever they see it. I love that there are so many people who are willing to create venues where art can be more accessible to everyone.
And I love art with cake 🙂
What an amazing vignette!
